Esteban Cordova was born in Puerto Rico where he started boxing at 10 years old. He moved to Jamestown, N.Y. when he was 12 years old and trained under Tommy Roque in Dunkirk. He is now trained by Roque, Joe Ortez and the “Roc Boxing Team” coaches. Cordova finished his amateur career with a record of 89W 7L.

On April 2, 2004, Boxing At The ROC I, Cordova made his pro debut defeating Brooklyn, New York’s Ricky Spencer (0-1) by TKO at 2:01 of the third round.
